Here is another update of what has been happening in the past week. The big event is I got a flat tire.
My mom said it is good to take my car out for a drive every now and then to keep it working well. I was going to go on a fudge run to Morris, Illinois. I had a blowout on Lake Shore Drive. I got off the road, and eventually pulled over. At first I could not get the tire cover off. I have two tires without tire covers, and it was a tire with a cover that had problems. So after a while I gave up and drove my car a mile and a half or so back to the garage where I park it.
I was able to get the cover off, but then I was unable to get the lug nuts off. The parking attendant said they could not help me. I even tried standing on the jack, but I could not get the lug nuts off.
I called for roadside assistance from my insurance company, and they sent somebody out. All the guy did was spray some WD-40 on the lug nuts. So I will go out and get some of that. I went to Just Tires and got a whole new set, since my tires were 8 years old. So I had to spend $500 at a time when I do not have a job. Soon I will start dipping into savings. So I am a bit depressed about that.
